Argh, this is not good.

Computer boots but I get "No Video Input" on the monitor, and no power light on the front of the case.  No harddrive activity (light is like in stand by mode) and the CD-ROM drive is constantly having its busy light on.

Motherboards little light is on... any suggestions?

I'm guessing dead motherboard.  Sounds like the sort of problem I had with my older computer. Sad

Affecting lots of things normally means a problem with the thing that everything plugs into...

here's a sure fire way to narrow it down... pull everything out of the case... everything. leave the proc (and fan) and one stick of ram on the board. plug in only the mobo's power, the power switch, and the case speaker. Give it power and what should happen is three beeps (meaning it dod not find a vid card)... if you don't get that then you have it narrowed down to the mobo, proc, or that stick of ram. (and you can switch the stick of ram with another to eliminate that as a suspect)

I do believe you lost your quid (however much that is).

Took it to the guy, crossed my fingers that it would still be broken and felt like crying when I heard the cd-rom make that loading sound that it usually does. Sad  I'm not sure whats wrong.  He said it probably got zapped and I just needed to unplug it and wait 20 seconds (I'm fairly sure I did that, and I tried a different power point in the same room...).  He always suggested that there was something wrong with the monitors, so I'll have to double check them as well....  I dunno, I'm abit clueless

Luckily I still had the excuse that the display wasn't working on the case, so I didn't make a complete idiot of myself. *ashamed*

I do believe that today is up there with the most embarrassing days in my short life. blush

On the plus side, I got maccas for lunch. smile
