I have a windows server, hosted at rackspace, that I want to monitor the "avg disk queue length." Rackspace can monitor a lot of things, but unfortunately that metric is not one of them.

At first I was thinking Nagios, but realized that needs to run on a [seperate] linux box, so that is out.

Maybe I can find some code to write a custom .net app that would run as a service, monitor this, and send an email? Anyone have any experience with this or ideas?

thanks!  construction

Oh, maybe I should have googled this... looks easier than I thought (and how did I get MS certified without knowing about the alerts in perfmon  laugh1 )
