Yes well it depends on what sauce you are using and then you choose the pasta to go with it...or vice versa.  Choose the pasta you want and then you will choose the type of sauce you would want or what goes with it.  One has to match the other

Except Slowhand it seems

If you told him, why did he keep making the mistake?

That's what I couldn't figure out.  I told him in many ways but he didn't catch on.

That's an unusual selection.

Not at all it is called Toast Hawaii after the fact that in Europe everything that has ham, pineapple, and cheese must have the name Hawaii in it. Pizza with ham, pineapple, and of course cheese... Yep you guessed it Pizza Hawaii

My wife likes to make Toast Hawaii when she doesn't really feel like cooking anything large.

You take a slice of toast (sliced sandwich bread in Germany is always called toast) you butter it place a slice of ham and a ring of pineapple and cover it with a slice of toast cheese (Kraft singles) and you put it in the oven until the toast is toasted () and the cheese has melted. It sometimes makes a neat dome shape where the cheese covers the center of the pineapple ring

Hum...

I can't imagine eating a ring of warm pineapple as I know I'd prefer it cold. I don't eat any pork products either so I will never know what your meal tastes like.

The Hawaiian thing you talk about though is the same over here in N America.
