Its getting close!  happydance Have you ever closed on a house before? Be prepared to sign your name about 3dozen times, usually by then end of it, I start forgetting how to sign my own name (odd cos I would think I would improve after doing it over & over & over & over & over).

Simmo, I hope the bold move you have made pans out well for you and you get tons of projects.
Its slow going, I had a burst of work there for a few days, then nothing since Sad Since its on a bid process, I put in bids daily, but have to wait for them to close, so I'm hoping I am still in the period of time where I am waiting on a bunch to close and soon will start the period where I am working on ones I bid on weeks ago, while still bidding on new ones to work on when the current ones end.
Still waiting on the house in Houston to sell too...

Just a bit stressed Another Tounge It'll pass.

Here's to a good week for all beerchug

Things are okay. Nothing really new.  No snow here n a while now.  Im not complaining at all.

Yeah our Spring will be here soon too.  British Columbia needs a lot of snow by the 12th if you know anyone who has any to spare. Grin

We're getting snow again. Been snowing pretty much non-stop for the last couple of days. Roads here are a total mess, but it didn't stop us yesterday. We signed the contract for the house. We now only have to wait for the family to move out and then we pay the money to get the keys.

Oh thats great news about the house.  When do you think you will be able to move in?  I mean when are the people expected to move out so you can move in?

I think that snow should have fallen in BC Canada instead.  They are desperate for snow there.  We haven't had any in a while around here. smile  I go outside in my summer clothes and sandles every day with the dog for a few minutes and I like it that way.  No snow to have to walk through.

They should be moved out at the beginning of April at the latest. It sounds like they have a line on a place to move to until they build their new home. Funny thing is that they may be moving just next door as that house is for rent Tongue

They are nice people though and I don't mind if they live next door. I'll just be happy once they are out and we can get our stuff in. Lots of work and we have to do it all before my mom arrives in June for a visit.

Well at least they will be handy next door if you have to ask them any questions during and after you move in. smile

Do you have to have all the work done by the time your mother visits?  I am sure she will understand the huge transition in your life. smile

Good luck with everything. smile

Well my wife wants it all the major stuff done, meaning the furniture setup and most boxes emptied or at least put in the attic for storage, before my mom's arrival. My mom is bringing an old family friend this time, a woman she grew up with. So it would be nice if the house isn't a total wreck when they arrive.

Not really a big deal. We have to be moved out of our apartment at the end of April and my mom isn't coming to visit until early June so that gives us a good month to get things sorted. The majority of the furniture should be back up within the first couple of days.

We also recently ordered our new bed and the new dining furniture for the new house. It should be ready for pickup when we start the move, meaning we pick it up and put it straight into the new house Grin.

This whole moving thing is really an exciting time. The boys are excited but I sometimes think that they don't really believe that we're moving to a new home.

We've got the oldest registered in the new Kindergarten. Sadly he won't have a space for the remaining year but for the start of next year he'll have a space. Since his birthday is after the cut off for going to school he'll get 1 more year of Kindergarten before going to school. I felt that this was also a good idea so that he has time to make new friends before starting school. The middle boy we also registered but he most likely won't have a space next year as he will be just turning 3 in December. Not such a big deal for us but we figured we should try the worse they could say is "no". However, since the oldest will be there next year the year following that the middle boy will have a space as siblings of children in or just leaving the Kindergarten have a bit more priority. The Kindergarten is about 500m from our house so easy to get the boys there even in bad snowy weather (much shorter than their current trip which is closer to 1k).

Why not have the bed and dining set delivered by the store on a certain date to your new home instead of going to collect it and bring it yourself?

You live amazingly close to your children's schools!  I used to have to drive at least an hour on the bus every morning and another at night to my school when growing up.  In Canada, if you live under 1km from any school you have to walk no matter the weather...otherwise..every student takes a school bus.

Also every province here has different regulations on when classes start or what age students can begin jr. kindergarten, kindergarten and grade one.  One of my girls turned 3 November 30th so she was allowed to start school a year before a lot of other children.  She was the youngest in her class because most were born that Spring.  Then she graduated school completely at age 16 with honors and a scholarship while a lot of her friends had to do one more year in order to earn their diploma.  She is now out working and taking extra advanced courses for her college she has chosen in Montreal.

Her sister was born on March 1st and had to wait until the following September to begin school.  She will be 17 this year on March 1st and has another year yet to go.  She isn't pleased.

Anyway it will be a nice time for your mother and her friend to visit your home in the Spring in Germany.  It must be beautiful there at that time of year and the following warmer months.  Its nice of you to think of getting most of the work done so they will be able to enjoy time with your wife and children and of course yourself instead of having to be in the middle of moving traffic. smile

Good luck with everything.  Im eager to learn how it all turns out. smile  Hope Spring comes soon! smile
